I use a tool called Tag&Rename for (hense the name) taging and renaming audiofiles. There is an option in this program, to lookup IDtags from the Amazon database.

From this database you can retrieve tracknumber, title, album notes etc etc etc.. and coverart (will be saved as folder.jpg and it will be saved within the tag). I am using this function mainly for the folder.jpg.

There is only one but in here... it also saves URL information on where to get this album. I used to delete this info with Tag&Rename.
There is NO info left, when I check the properties in Windows Explorer, so this is good.

Now when I open the same mp3 in Foobar, it still gives the URL information when I check the properties.



How is this possible? Is Foobar using "deleted" data?

i know about tag & rename adding that info, sort of annoying (you can't disable it and that url contains string identifying the developer, so they would get money when someone buys something using that url), if you ask me. i too delete it afterwards.

i didn't test it, though my guess is that you (1) either didn't really delete it or (2) didn't refresh info in your foobar's database (reload info from file), however it should happen automatically.

so re-check your files in tag & rename and then try to reload that info. it may be the case that length didn't change and that you have tag & rename set to preserve file modification date ...

Well, I did some good research again ( ). I'll try to look better next time before I post a thread.

Found the solution though. There IS an option within Tag&Rename, that will do a mass edit on your desired selection of mp3's.
Don't use to many albums though, it takes a long time (did 15000 tracks, cost me almost an hour)
