Full Version: What is the best way to synch household audio

I've got a pretty typical scenario here. I have many rooms in my apartment that I want sound in and I'd like to be able to play sound from the same source in all of them simultaneously. I personally thought the best way to do this would be to stream the music from one computer to all the other audio receivers. Unfortunately, as many of you probably already knew, the audio between all of the receivers is usually slightly off, creating a very distasteful and significantly unsettling effect.

So my question is, what would be the best way, within financial and logistical reason, to accomplish what I want? Would I be better off buying a nice amplifier with plentiful speaker outputs and a lot of speaker cable, or is there a more sophisticated sound distribution method that will help me out here?

Many thanks in advance, everyone here is always great.

I ended up using 15 meter Toslink cable because any streaming added way to much delay. Works quite well.

I think I'm probably going to end up doing something similar . . . we'll see. Thanks!
