the hottest lame_enc.dll may be downloaded for testing purposes either on "Rarewares.org" or "Lame.bakerweb.biz", maybe also on other sites. Is there any difference between them as they are quite significantly different in size, maybe they differ even in alpha build number (as most of rippers show also the engine version). Should they be identical/do the developers work on just one version/alpha build, or how is the situation, I am a bit confused ...

I can't speak for the other one, but the one on Rarewares has been compressed using UPX, as I usually do.
