I have a CD with WAVs containing MP3 data. I need a tool to convert these wavs to ordinary MP3 files without recompression. Does anyone know such a thing?

• WaveMP3, imho the best one
• StripHdr
• RIFFStrip

It is.

It just strips RIFF header data from the file.

Well, thanks. I didn't try it yet, but if I strip a wav with mp3, will the result be an mp3 file? I mean will I be able to play it with an ordinary mp3 player?

Oh, fine. This works, but I have found imho a better utility at http://videoripper.cjb.net/. It has both GUI and CL interfaces. Also it works in both directions and preserves ID3 tags. And has a very small size.
