Full Version: Sound card with digital out?

I apologize if this question has been asked before ... my search didn't yield any useful results.

I am looking for soundcard recommendations ... would like to replace my current CD changer with a "digital music jukebox". The jukebox PC would connect directly to my home theater receiver so I could play music through my existing speaker setup.

Can anyone recommend a suitable soundcard or suggest features that I should be looking for as I move toward a purchase? My receiver is a Denon AVR-3801 and has a decent number of both Analog (RCA) and Digital (Coax/TosLink) inputs.

Thanks!

Thanks ... I'll look into that. What is it about the AV710 that makes you recommend it? Is it a certain feature or component?

I recommend it because it does what you want a sound card to do and at $25. This card simply does what it says unlike some cards where they resample their output.

I agree...used on of these for quite some time with great results. If you're just looking for a straight digital coax output for listening to your music, there's really no reason to spend more than this.
