Dimebag Darrell, member of Damageplan, but mostly known as the lead guitar player from Pantera, was shot dead in a nightclub in Ohio.

Quite shocking news, IMHO...

Rest in peace.

Its hard to believe that this sort of thing goes on.. What was the 'goal' in the guys head? What was the best that was going to happen? Completely sickening.

OMG! I'm shocked. Really loved Darrell's playing. R.I.P.

Its devastating to see another wonderful musician go down. Especially like this. Its so wrong. Dimebag gets a warrior's salute from me. He went out shredding, can't ask for more than that. Rest in peace brother....

This sad fact is worldwide known. R.I.P.

Did you realized that is the same day that John lennon died? December 8.... i'm thinking if the killler is crazy ebough to have REALLY waited for this day or if it's just coincidence.

I still can't believe it, I'm mourning all the time I've noticed this bad news, since thursday afternoon... crying.gif
It's the worst message since the death of Cozy Powell in April 1998 and Chuck Schuldiner in December 2001.
All of you guys will be missed and your music will remain in our hearts!

Unbelievable...when I saw it on the news flash, they didn´t tell Darrell was among the casualties. I later found it out on the net.
Not that it wasn´t shocking believing the dead people were unknown, but it´s really disheartening when someone who´s music has pumped up your soul for so many years is killed mercilessly.

Guns shouldn´t be available to anyone. I wish every gun/rifle/missile/bomb/any weapon in the world were destroyed for good.

It just plain stinks.
According to Shepard Smith (think that's his name) from the Fox News Channel the gun wielding murderer supposedly was upset about Pantera "stealing" songs he had wrote.

Also what's upsetting is that Shepard Smith guy from the Fox News Channel had a dumb-ass look on his face almost like a smirk or smile while he was reporting it.

And while the murder of even a semi-human barbarian like Mr. Abbott is tragic and to be lamented, it would be wrong to ignore Mr. Abbott's complicity in contributing to the soul-deadening culture of death, ugliness, depravity and inhumanity that spawned his killer.

Yeah. John Lennon too.

An instance where "freedom" of speach, and the press has go too far ."Ship his ass to a country where such words will earn a permanant vacation in prison."

Put simply he obviously doesn't understand a damn thing about metal, metal music, metal performers, metal fans, etc. I absolutely lothe rap music and what it is derived from, however it seems he doesn't respect it either -- so now he's got two "genres" which in essence stem from Rock, and R&B to put him in his place.
