Hi all

How can I check my mp3's for errors? What is the best program for checking & maybe correcting?

I have no too much time checking with my ears smile.gif

This seems to do what you want, although by "repairing" they seem to mean converting the file to wav and converting it back to MP3, which is not a good idea. I looked at the site and discovered something else this program claims to do:

"Compress WAV files: Save around 75% hard disk space by converting your WAV files into a lossless compressed WAV format. This format has the .wav extension and is fully compatible with all Windows applications."

I wonder how this is done... is there a lossless format that uses the .wav ending and can be played by, say, Windows Media Player??

I just tested that Ashampoo lossless WAV compression stuff

Still probably good enough for most of the clipressed stuff that their target market probably listens to.

I have to disagree! This company obviously lied...because it is NOT lossless...people that don't care about quality, stick with CBR 128 kbps Stereo mp3 files rolleyes.gif So some user might think, oh well, it's lossless so why should I use FLAC if I can do it through this program and don't need an extra plugin or anything in order to play files...people keep wav files for a reason...

Saving 75% losslessly is BS (unless your favourite music genre is digital-silence wink.gif ).
WAV is just a container, it can contain uncompressed PCM data that you're used to or audio data compressed with any audio codec installed on your system, lossy or lossless (and ADPCM codec used by that Ashamepoo thing is in fact lossy).
And yes, such a "compressed WAV" can be played by WMP.
