I've got an iRiver iMP-550 MP3-CD player (firmware version 1.70) recently.
When playing back a file with "tag auto eq" option turned on, it is impossible to switch to other equalizer presets (and the used one always shows up as "3D"), and an attempt to change the volume (even to increase it) makes it very quiet.

Is there any cure for that (other than to switch "tag auto eq" option off)?
Maybe new firmware version? What is the latest one?

hmm the latest one atm is 1.70 but you can get the 1.80 from the korean website although i dont suggest it. The click before the start of each track is less noticible on the 1.70 (i think i have the europe version) than on the 1.8 korean. Mebbe the player doesnt recognise the tags and assumes the 3D preset by default? I tend not to use the auto eq myself but that may be the root of ur problem.
