Hi

I'm a very impressed foobar user.
I have a server where I'm streaming audio, to two WorkSt.
Most of my collection of songs is FLAC, then everything is ok.
But, with MP3 the tags are gone.
I only see file name path.
The Tag's are both v1 and v2 on the files,
I have tried with the v2 plugin and diffrent settings....

The sad thing crying.gif is that WindowsMediaPlayer is showing the correct TAG info crying.gif crying.gif
But I dont't like WindowsMediaPlayer. crying.gif

I love foobar2000 smile.gif smile.gif

Im currently running a mediaserver.
Win2000 Pro with Apache WWW server.
Runing a andromeda PHP script to make streaming user friendly....

OS on WS is 2000 pro

Do you have APE2 tags in your mp3 files? Did you add replaygain info to them?
etotore
Not that I'm aware of.
Using Tag and Rename, default settings, mostly.
Sometimes also the foobar2000 masstager, but not often.
Never played with that setting yet.

Try this little prog (TAG):
http://www.rarewares.org/files/others/tag.zip

It will tell you what tags have your file...

I've got the same problem with the songs from ocremix.org, using a base install of f2k. The artist and album tags are recognized in another player such as iTunes but not in f2k.

Tag.exe recognizes these mp3s as having the tags that they should.

Hmmm. I just downloaded one song from this site called "Super Mario 64 SunkenSuite". It's an mp3 file , VBR, joint stereo. All tags are visible from this file and properly recognized.

I did the same, and got a result identical to yours. The only variable between my original problem and your test is that all the mp3s I have from OCRemix come from the torrent packages they offer, and were not downloaded individually.

I downloaded the entire 1-1250 set through those torrents, since some of my original individual downloads were corrupted. I have since marked all read-only and keep their modified tags on-disk only in FPL files and the database. All tags are readable.

You may need to install foo_id3v2.

Thanx for all info....

But i think that the problem is related to streaming...
Because localy it works.... without web server streaming
So the way foobar is reading remote tags on MP3 is not good.
Not working....

FLAC is working fine when you start playing the song.
eg. reading the file.

Windows media player scans all tags first, diffrent behavior.

I solved my problem by selecting my entire playlist, choosing Properties and clicking 'Reload info from file'. ID3 data showed up properly afterward.

Did not solve my problem.......... sad.gif

I have to give up, foobar2000... crying.gif crying.gif crying.gif

As main music player, because of the poor way it is handling, reading of tag's when doing streaming (MP3) from WWW server. Flac working fine, in english, see also

Flac files with norwegian characters.

Foobar is in really big need of a major improvment here..... headbang.gif
Redesign please
I didn't think i would say this. Look at Windows Media Player....

On all other aspects it is the best............ smile.gif
Memory, sound formats and so on......
