You would have to find another mp4 splitter to do that. You could get a codec pack like
Satsuki and just install the parts (like its mp4 splitter) you need. Ive used this codec pack before, it isnt as bad as others are.
Hi, Ollie. IIRC that codec pack still contains the 3ivx mp4 splitter albeit none of the other 3ivx filters. Not sure if this is what mp4junkie was looking for. Anyhow, the Nero mp4 splitter should also work. Although you have to install a lot of other things in the process.
EDIT: Of course use CoreAAC to decode the audio. It is available on rarewares IIRC.

Could I just do a regsvr32 neromp4.dll?
Thanks for the info! I will try coreaac
3ivx was very slow for me on a p200. I want to burn some cd's for my brothers
computer, but all my ripped music is in mp4 and
he doesn't use anything but wmp. I tried to get him to use winamp.
Oh well. Then again, maybe foobar2000 he might like more
because it is readable at 600x800, and looks like a normal windows program.

Sure, I don't see why not, if you can just get the dll out of the package or from somewhere else.
EDIT: I should say that your problem with 3ivx being too slow is likely due to the audio decoder they use. If you use CoreAAC and the 3ivx mp4 splitter it will likely be much faster.

I never got anything nero working. I installed CoreAAC, then installed 3ivx, uninstalled the 3ivx audio
decoder with the radlight filter manager, and everything works quick and responsive.
I really like this CoreAAC filter, it actually shows the current bitrate!
I also found a mp4 splitter that isn't commercial:
moonlight MP4 Demuxer
www.elecard.com/download/
Also I noticed every a song is played netstat shows this:
Active Connections
Proto Local Address Foreign Address State
TCP billgate:1426 pillow.3ivx.com:80 ESTABLISHED
TCP billgate:1431 pillow.3ivx.com:80 ESTABLISHED
TCP billgate:8080 www.altnet.com:1430 ESTABLISHED
TCP billgate:1430 www.altnet.com:8080 ESTABLISHED
You may want to add these to your hosts file.
That Moonlight filter can't skip ahead in a song.

CoreAAC is great, but if your using Windows 98 like me, you generally might want to keep the amount of excess filters to a minium to keep at least some stability. I suggest looking into a recent 'alpha' of ffdshow from sourceforge. It includes some audio filters, such as AAC, vorbis and AC3. Very handy for us who are forced to use Win98.
Just a tip with ffdshow if you decide to install it, if you arent using a 5.1 bit stereo and plan to use ffdshow as your AC3 filter, set the 'Mixer' to 2/0 or whatever you want and turn it on. Also deselect everything in the 'Input/Output' baring the 16bit options.
Those outgoings are weird, i didnt think 3ivx splitter was like that. Might be a good thing to ask Bond in the containers forum, im sure he'll have the proper answer.

I've found that the elecard mp4 demultiplexer can skip ahead.
To get it to work with the .m4a extension I copied the mediatype from
.mp4:
Save this as a .reg file:
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Media Type\Extensions\.m4a]
"Source Filter"="{E206E4DE-A7EE-4A62-B3E9-4FBC8FE84C73}"
"Media Type"="{813BACB7-18A7-4068-AABD-8F8CD57011BC}"
CoreAAC and elecard- works great for mpeg4 audio.
