I'm having a hard time trying to find a good flash mp3 player. Any recommendations are appreciated. Here's a list of the requirements that I'm trying to meet (priority is top -> bottom)

1 price (preferably around $100 canadian)
2 battery type (regular batteries)
3 battery life (at least 15 hours)
4 storage (128MBs or 256MBs)
5 compatability (mp3, wav any others are a bonus)
6 extra features (voice recording, fm tuner)

I'm assuming the sound quality is pretty good on all players in this age... If not, let me know. I find it hard to believe that sound quality could still be an issue. If I'm missing some cool features let me know about them, I've only been researching mp3 players for a couple of days.

Thanks in advance.

Sound quality is crap in most cases because the earphones are cheap! You will have to exchange them into decent ones.

Sounds like you're looking for the iRiver iFP-790...

I've had one for several months now, and I love it. Check it out:

Thanks for the replies. I'm glad you brought up the ifp-790 I was looking into that one, and it seems to have a lot of features at an affordable price. It also looks pretty cool which is a bonus smile.gif

Does anyone know what the difference between iRiver inc, and iRiver America is? I was trying to find low prices for the ifp-790T, and I noticed lots of ifp-190's for around the same price, and same specs.

I'll take a look at the creative Muvo TX. I heard a lot of good things about those ones too.

Not quite the same specs.

The iFP-790T can:
play OggVorbis files;
use USB 2.0;
record music from any audio source;
play for appox. 40 hours on one battery;
store and transfer any file type.

The iFP-190 can't do any of this.

I got confused when looking at this site
http://www.ncix.com/search/?quicksearch=ir...&imageField.y=0

They actually charge more for the ifp-190T then the 790T. Thanks for clearing that up. I think this player is the one I'm gonna get, I just need to find a good deal on one. Easier said then done smile.gif

You could try one of the Rio flash players. Probably just mp3, but it looks like most come wtih FM radio and an SD card slot for more memory.

Another vote for the Creative Muvo TX FM. I just bought the 256MB model for my girlfriend and I think it's great. Low price (about 90 Euros here), small size, USB 2.0, FM radio, mic recording, takes 1 AAA battery, about 14 hours of playback with mp3 (I think) plus it can work as a flash drive just by plugging it in (no need for extra cables). Just mp3 and wma though, no ogg vorbis. I guess it plays wav as well but I don't really remember.
