Hi there,
Is it a generally accepted fact that .ogg at Q6 will be of a higher quality than an MP3 encoded at -aps?
I'm under the assumption that both of those files will be somewhere around 196kps. I've read a bit about both file types and it seems that for a given bitrate .ogg wins.
Thanks for any info

I've tried to answer this question myself last summer. It's
classical only (excepted one Diana Krall sample):
http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index....showtopic=23355Conclusions were:
CODE
OGG6.00 is better than LAME_V2, OGG5.99, OGG5.5, LAME_V3
[lame V2 = --alt-preset standard]
I'd say yes.
Vorbis will also bloat a lot less on 'heavy' music genres such as hardcore or screamo.
