when i convert a 88.2/24 wmal to 44.1/16 wmal by way of Windows Media Encoder, it appears as though there was no dithering when i look at it in cep 2.1. does anyone know if Windows Media Encoder dithers or applies any noise shaping when downconverting between these two types of files? should i do the conversion in cep instead, and if so use what settings for this situation? i record rap music from a tape so i hardly get any frequencies above 18khz. thanks for ya help.
