I'm not sure if this should go in here or Audio Hardware, but this relates specifically to AAC. I encoded some CDs in Nero to transfer to my iPod, but they are apparently "not able to be played on this iPod." It applies to both HE-AAC and LC-AAC. I encoded a song in both iTunes-encoded AAC and FAAC, and both of them worked perfectly fine. If it matters, it's a 4th Gen iPod.

I don't think it supports he-aac yet, but the lc-aac's should work.. The files end with .m4a right?

high effieciency should play in your ipod good as long as you have the latest firmware
maybe when encoding select the option that says export iso aac track (that option is for old aac players)
so just get the latest firmware and try that option

had the same problem with some nero 2.6.0.6 he-aac files on a 4G ipod. which is why i've decided to stick with mp3s exclusively for portable music.
