I was wondering if one could use the Sony Walkman batteries with the iRiver iMP-550. Saturn sells them for about 10 €. Here's an image of the Sonys (the one Saturn sells is a bit more colorful):
They have 1400 mAh and are NiMH AFAIK.

I have the imp-550 too, and if the 1400 NiMH batteries are the so-called rectangular 'gumstick' batteries, they will work. In fact if I'm not wrong the ones that come with the 550 are actually rated at 1450 mAh (at least mine are).
