just got a new audiocard that can support up to 192 instead of just 44.1 sample rate. but I don't think that when it (audio) is coming into cool edit pro it is set for 192. at the bottom of the screen it still says that it is set for 44.1. just trying to get the most out of my studio. any help would be appreciated!
thanks.

Are you're recording through digital-in (SPDIF) ?
Then anything better than 48kHz/16bit isn't sensible, cause this is SPDIF's maximum format (in terms of quality). The quality can never get better by just converting to a superior format.

Anyway, first thing is to adjust your soundcard's driver to 192KHz (hopefully it has a suitable option).
If you want to record in a special fromat in CEP, you need to specify it when you create the new file: You will be asked for sample rate and bit depth (and mono/stereo).
