LOL. I guess he must've thought he just hit his face with the nail gun or something.

I've actually once seen a very similar real-life case where the nail entered from the nose and extended backward in mid-line.

EDIT: not a similar case in the way that it was clear that there was a nail

there are actually a few very well documented cases where ppl injured their brain in a very serious way, but didn't realize it.
I'm not too much into physiological neuro sciences, but some parts of the brain can be damaged without real notice (there of course side effects, depending on the area).
as for the pain an accident like that usually inflicts, maybe the shock and surprise is able to mask it. plus, not knowing you should have pain sometimes helps to actually not having any (serious) pain.

maybe the nail cut though the part of the brain that would have remembered.

A friend saw this guy interviewed on TV. The injured guy was loaded when it happened. I guess that is why it is called "dope." cool.gif

They were playing the story on our local station today and had xrays from the front as well as the one above.

The real kicker is further down the article:

"This is the second one we've seen in this hospital where the person was injured by the nail gun and didn't actually realize the nail had been imbedded in their skull," neurosurgeon Sean Markey told KUSA-TV in Denver

Reliable newspapers from my country (and their websites) report this news, so I think it's as incredible as true
