Hello. I am the owner of an Audigy 2 ZS sound card. I have the latest "hacked" drivers installed from Youp (PAX). Based on what Ive read around here so far, I currently wondring whether this is the best choice for my MP3' (input plugin) along with output. While I like foobar2000, I prefer to stick to winamp for a while,
Speakers: Logitech Z640 5.1 Speakers
Winamp version: 5.08c
MP3 Input Plugin: Shibatch mpg123 (SSE)
- Thread Priority: Highest
- Output Format: 24-bits (int) : Should I set this to 24-bits (float) or even 32-bits???
- Replay Gain: Enabled : I have all mp3's tagged
- Preamp: +0.6dB
- Hard Limiter: Checked
Output plugin: ASIO Plugin DLL Version (SSE)
- Device: Creative ASIO
- Thread Priority: Time Critical
- Buffer-Size: 4 (Default: 7) : Should I try another value????????
- Shift output channels: 0
- Gapless mode: unchecked : Should I enable this???????
- Convert 1channel to 2 Channels: checked
- Use direct input monitor: unchecked
- Resampling: Enabled
- Priority: Highest
- Sample Rate: 48000 Hz (No other value works)
- Quality: High*
* If I set Quality to "TOP", my cpu usage jumps to avg 25% when playing mp3's (unacceptable for me). At "HIGH" it looms around 0% , jumping to 2 or 3% now and then (acceptable for me :-)).
I was wondering whether this plugin setup is great and if I could improve it somehow. For Ouput I used to use the default Directsound Output that came with Winamp 5.08. I dont notice any auidible difference between output plugin and the ASIO plugin but im *assuming* its better to stick with the ASIO plugin?? Am I right. Please gimme suggestions. Thanks.
