Yeah, its to the right of the IBM in that pic. Looks like a Mac Plus or Mac SE.

For some as-yet-unexplained reason the marketplace has yet to discover the charms of the Mac. It is not for lack of advertising or promotion. I cannot for the life of me figure out why. cool.gif

There are several reasons, exspense being one of them. Others include the inability to buy Macs at many retail outlets. In Australia you pretty much have to go to an Apple store, at least until recently, and there are only two i know of where i live, both of which are over 30 minutes drive from my house. So they don't really have any market exposure.

Finally, Macs have a repuatation for lacking software support, even though the current selection of software available for Mac is slowly becoming impressive (particularly the number of A-Grade games available).

I bought my Mac in 1993 from Brashes and I've seen them at Harvey Norman and Myer before then too. smile.gif

LOL

Maybe Gates missed his true calling...nah. I'd rather him be a rich man pushing Windows stuff on people than that.

Never heard of Brashes, is that down south (Sydney, Melbourne?). I've only seen them at Harvey Norman and Myer MegaMart recently (say last six months or so, although I could be wrong about that). At any rate, that still isn't like walking in to Joe's Computer store on the street corner and walking out with Mac, which can't be done.

Back to topic...

It has now been discovered that these pics are from 1985 (not 1983) and were not for a teen magazine, but were taken just after the launch of Windows 1.0.

See here.

They went bust a few years ago so that's probably why you haven't heard of them. They used to have two stores on the Gold Coast, one at Bundall and the other at Pac Fair.
