Full Version: Any existing standards for archiving?

I'm a newbie in lossless archiving area.

Is there any standard for the entire encoding progress or just a part of it?
Like what options should be used while grabbing tracks in EAC, what settings should be used while encoding into flac, what settings should be used while scanning the artwork, and what settings, forms, or encodings should be used while making the description of the trakcs, artists, comments, and introductions.

Have a look at ***. Personally, I go with a Plextor drive, Plextools 2.19, 4x ripping speed and so on, using flac. That would probably be the most accurate and most certanly fastest and easiest.

Link to information how to obtain copyrighted material removed by moderation. TOS#9 applies.

You won't find any standards outside of closed sharing circles or similiar, which is one of the reasons such matters are rarely discussed at Hydrogenaudio.

Choice is good.

For liveshows etree's seeding guidelines are a standard among most trading communities.

I'm truly sorry if that page contained info on how to obtain copyrighted material. Last time I checked (it actually was some time ago), it only contained information on how to tune EAC for the possible result, if not "overkill" result. Normaly, I am very keen on following forum rules, especially here.

I actually got the link from here at HA, probably about a year ago.

Again, sorry for breaking the rules.
