sorry if this question was posted before but i did not find
any useful work-around for my problem

ripping some movie and trying to convert the 5.1 ac3 to aac

the first attempt with foobar 0.83, aaceenc32. exe (0.78.049)
and nero 2.9.9.999 was successful resulting in a 2.0 48khz 145kbps lc-aac file...

(btw should i downsample to 44.1khz?)

then i tried to convert to 5.1 he-aac but foobar won't finish the job
because the resulting wave-file is larger than 2gig
(there's another thread with this problem)

does any commandline-tool using the nero-dlls supports piping?
when i use case's foo_nero (0.41) the encoder uses wrong options or
foobar keeps crashing after using it some days blink.gif

any help would be great

sorry for my poor english
thanks

i used besweet before...but stopped since i don't want to downsample

foobar2000 and its diskwriter using foo_ac3.
Downsampling etc. can be done using the appropriate DSPs.

You don't have to downsample when using besweet.

thanks for the replies...

just tested with besweet 1.5b29 -c normal --maximize (no lfe-downmixing)

resulting file is 5.1 he-aac 166kbps 44.1khz
just as expected...i've done no manual downsampling

only solution (with correct RG) seems to be foo_nero,
i will try to reinstall foobar and look how it gets

Besweet has no problems keeping 48 kHz files as 48 kHz here. Can you post your complete command line arguments?

i think these are the important ones

-azid( -c normal --maximize ) -bsn( -6chnew -config )

the other command-line tools seem to wrongly interface the nero-dlls
and cut-off at 15.5khz
besweet downsamples to 44.1khz whatever i tried in the past
so foo_nero is the only way as it worked now after reinstalling

for my personal taste, the 2.0 lc-file sounded much better at the 140-160kbps range

thanks anyway

besweet only downsamples automatically if the nero encoder tells it should downsample

I think the problem here is the -bsn( -config ) switch which triggers downsampling even in BeSweet 1.5b29. The more obvious way is to use the command line switches to configure the Nero dlls. I'd recommend something like

besweet -core( -input in.ac3 -output full_path\out.mp4 -logfile BeSweet.log ) -azid( -c normal --maximize ) -bsn( -6chnew -aacprofile_he -vbr_streaming )

...or something similar. I'll try to post a link to the doom9 thread where E-Male posted the full command line switches available.

Another problem: I tried to transcode a 6ch AC3 file in foobar2000 to 5.1 AAC with foo_ac3 and foo_faac. While this method uses pipes foobar2000 (latest from Case's site) also does not finish the job. Does anyone know why?

Cheers,

O.K, here's the link.
