ok, this forum is my last chance to get some answers on this, so pls try laugh.gif

my main concern is whats up with WB? /seems like camera maker is usign some settings to reduce the ccd bluish cast (their conversion package), that wont happen in adobe iam afraid...

then there is luma noise, how to handle that? /again the camera maker is using very agressive luma noise remover and adobe is very mild here

luma chroma curves - tonal distribution /is there a way to somehow extract the curve that the maker is usign and use that as default for adobe?
robert
WB == white alignment ?
luma noise ??

Have you tried something based on DCRaw ?

robert,

WB = white balance
luma noise - ok, i dont know how to describe that better, lets just say this is a monocromatic noise left in the image even when i use full reduction in photoshop when for example i cant see any chroma noise. (this noise is posibly due to not exactly perfect bayern interpolation algo, but iam not really sure...)

gabriel: all (or most) of this converters are based on dcraw, including adobe one afaik.

(the main goal of this exploration is to ditch anoying software that came with the camera and at the end convert all the camera raw files to adobe dng- which are almost 50% smaller in my case..)

tnx for replyes, i guess ill have to wait for adobe to officaly support my specific camera and then trouble them with questions.

anyway, the amount of details i can get with some guesswork is pretty amazing, so this will be a killer combo when everything falls into place, here is an example:

(this paint is based on 1:1 raw pixels)

You know that you did not even mentionned your camera model, don't you?

edit: regarding noise you might try NoiseWare or NeatImage

ups, sony dsc-v3. (neatimage and similar will work on linear data, this is noise that happens when raw is converted and should be controlable in that step.)
