Full Version: Itunesencode With Cdex

Does anyone know a command line that will enable iTunesEncode to work with CDex? I know it was designed mainly to use with EAC but I wonder why I can't get it to work with CDex. BTW, I did get it to work (most of the time) with the dBpowerAMP converter by creating a generic CLI and using this command line:

iTunesEncode.exe -e "AAC Encoder" -d -a "[IDArtist]" -t [IDTrack] -l "[IDAlbum]" -g "[IDGenre]" -i [InFile] -o [OutFile]

However, so far no luck with CDex.

There's a CDEx command line in the readme. Somebody emailed it to me.

-e "AAC Encoder" -a "%a" -l "%b" -t "%t" -g "%g" -y "%y" -n "%tn" -c "iTunes AAC Encoder" -i %1 -o %2 -d

Thanks a lot. Sorry to waste your time. I was using an old version of the readme that didn't have the CDex command line.

I would appreciate some assistance.

I read about Itunesencode from Hydrogenaudio, and was curious about using it with CDex, my preferred ripping program.

I set up CDex to use Itunesencode as an external encoder, and copy-pasted the suggested command line encoder from the Readme, also posted in the previous replies to this thread.

However, when I try to extract the compressed file, I get an error "cannot send data to external encoder."

What am I doing wrong? I have searched the HA forums, but have not found any similar posts.

[EDIT]: itunesencode.exe is in the same directory as CDex, and I have put in the correct path in the "External Encoder" window. Still no dice.

It's similar to what this guy is experiencing (except he's using FLAC with CDex):

@Otto

This is OT but, is there a way to use itunesencode without having iTunes running during the encode? Better yet, is there a way to use it without having iTunes installed, a la Naacenc for Nero? Just curious.
