i was wondering if editing the gap properties of the files selected to burn in nero will change anything in my actual mp3's or if it just works from ram? i cant say i have noticed any changes but then often i only burn stuff off for my parents anyway.

I changes nothing. Nero processes the files on RAM. Not even the names are changed if you rename those files.

[RANT] I still cannot believe that NERO does not default the gap to 0 seconds [/RANT]

thanks, i agree its incredibly annoying to have to change that setting each time.

Then use a different app to burn your CDs. Or burn from foobar, which uses Nero to burn but you won't have to deal with the clumsy interface.

Where do you get the burning plugin?

Is it included on the special installer?

BTW, does Burrn suport burning of FLAC files to Red Book?

I think yes, not sure though. I always use Case's installer, and that one does include it.
