Hello Guys! This is my first post in the Hydrogenaudio forum.
Recently, I've got a Megaworks THX 250D speakers and I was wondering what could be a good sound card for this 2.1 setup.
E-mu 0404 is the best choice really?
I'll be using it mostly for music. I play games but this is not an issue at all.
Thanks a lot!!

Anyone???
Are you going to be using the digital input on the speakers? If so, it wouldn't make a huge difference to just use something like the Chaintech AV-710 if you wanted to.
Not that it will make a huge difference, but pairing an EMU 404 with Creative Megaworks speakers seems like overkill to me.
Even though they are THX certified

I'd go for the Chaintech and save yourself a lot of money. You're not going to be taking advantage of the EMU using any computer speakers...

Thanks a lot guys!!
I'm going for the Chaintech!!
The Megaworks 250d doesnt recieve optical signals however. You would need to get some sort of converter to use the digital coaxial which it comes with.
The Chaintech comes with a Optical Digital Output
Digital is preferable, but you can still use the high sample rate two channel outputs if you get the chaintech though
Hmmmm.... so I was wondering, how are those speakers, I was also planning to get them.... but I was scared it didnt produce good highs because of a lack of tweeter which the s700 has (s700 got very good rating on frequency response).

I wouldn't doubt if the Chaintech has a far superior DAC compared to the Megaworks, so its quite possible you'd be better off using the analog connection (plus the cable is way cheaper).
does anyone know a good site that reviewed the creative megaworks 250d????
