Hi guys it was recently my birthday & I got an iPOD Minii so now I would like to use the Apple AAC encoder to trascode my MPC collection to AAC but I want all tag info to be copied also, is this possible?

If it can be done, check out Spoon's dBPoweramp. Not 100% sure on MPC to AAC though.

I use foobar2000's converter with Otto's iTunesEncode for this, set up in foobar as following:

Encoder: (path to iTunesEncode.exe)
Extension: m4a
Parameters: -e "AAC Encoder" -d -a "%artist%" -l "%album%" -t "%title%" -g "%genre%" -y %date% -n %tracknumber% -i %s -o %d

The -d stands for "don't add to iTunes library" IIRC so you may want to drop that.

Supernaut, can you use the same application to go directly from Apple Lossless to MP3, keeping all the tag info?

AFAIK theres no decoder for Apple Lossless aside from iTunes/QT so I don't think it will work.

Thanks, that worked perfectly.

dbPowerAMP works perfect with encoding (LAME)-MP3s from Apple lossless. It messes with the ID-Tags encoding to MPC ...
