I got a chaintech av-710 and was directed to foobar to get the most of it. I suppose it's unwise to ask two questions in one thread but what the heck.

First off: I added my folder that contains all my music to the database settings and much of my collection is visible in the database explorer, album list and database search, however there are many files missing. I opened up the database file with a text editor and the files I can't find are infact in there.

I tried foobar a while back and I remember vaguely that if the db couldn't get id3 information and such from files it would categorize those files as "?". I don't see any "?" category, nor can I find the files by searching for their filename etc... I checked a couple of the files that are missing and made sure they had id3v1 and id3v2 tags, then scanning again, however that had no effect. I should mention that I have the id3v2 plugin and foobar is set to use id3v2 and id3v1.

So question 1 is how do I fix the above problem.

My second problem is something that occurs when using Kernel Streaming. I'm able to use the KS output just fine until another process wants to use the soundcard. The other process will make its sound but foobar ceases to make any sound, however it thinks it's still playing. If I stop and start a track after it becomes silent, it works again.

Question 2 is how do I fix the above problem.

Thanks in advance and have a nice day. Please forgive any grammatical errors and such.

You can try using ASIO instead of kernel streaming...
