Hi,

I've just finished a weekend of ripping my CDs to MP3 (sorry!). About 30 of those are Japanese albums, and WMP (sorry again!) dutifully filled in the ID3 tags, and also the filename. This resulted in me having many filenames in Japanese.

Now, these display fine in XP (I have Japanese language set up properly), but I can't copy them across to my Buffalo Linkstation - which is where they will be played from, and I can't strip the filename in Tag&Rename because it can't open the file.

So I'm assuming that although I can see the filename in XP, there is something incompatible with other apps. So how do I get the filenames back to English? The Title can stay in Japanese which is all that the music player should need, so simply leaving the 01/02 etc would be OK. But I don't want to rip again if possible, and manually will take forever.
