Full Version: EAC to FLAC Problem(s)

Hello good people.
I am new here-but I've read ALOT of posts related to EAC&FLAC.

I have checked and double and triple checked my settings and line commands,..etc. They are consistent with the many (very helpful) set-up guides I have found

My problem is that EAC doesn't seem to output into .flac files.

The Extraction process and copy/compression process go ahead as they should, it seems.--However, after each track is 100% compressed, a prompt for Nero pops up and informs me about the Flac plug-in for Nero and I press "OK". Next it detects Flac already installed on my CPU and asks if I want to uninstall it and install the latest version with the Nero/Flac Plug-in.
I have processed two CDs with this problem-pressing "OK" and then "Cancel" when the Nero box comes up-afterEACH track. (So a CD with 10 tracks-I have to do this 10 times. I am sure I already have the latest version of Flac with the Nero Plug-in. I DO NOT have any Nero Software and don't play on getting it.

This problem is an annoyance but on top of that the output files are all .wav!!
I took the output files (all .wav) and Added them to Flac manually through the "ADD FILES" button...The black box popped up and the files all converted to .flac

Any help on these issues is hugely appreciated!

I am planning to Archive my entire CD collection and have read alot about EAC and Flac. I want to get this process right and make it fairly easy with not alot of steps. Please any Help!

Menu - EAC - Compression Options - External Compression. Is it enabled? flac.exe is specified as program used for compression?

Also, take a look here: http://www.saunalahti.fi/cse/EAC/index.html This guide helped me to configure EAC+FLAC in best way. Extraction, encoding and tagging goes without me.

Nero plugin???
The Nero flac plugin shouldn't be involved at all.
... make sure EAC is pointed to flac.exe in the directory FLAC is installed to.

-Yes. It most definitely is enabled and specified.

I WAS using the newest version of Flac at the time of my first post(v1.2.1)

NOW....
.............I am running the process (EAC>Flac ver.1.1.1) right now as I type, and it appears to be converting to .flac and without the Nero/Flac Plug-in prompt!!!!!!

I UNinstalled Flac v1.2.1

............ Installed v1.1.1 from
[url=http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=13478]

Using Flac v1.1.1 seems to have eliminated the Nero/flac Plug-in prompt problem!!Hoorah!
