I just installed the Doppler PC client for podcasts. Although I let the installer decree WMP as the player, clicking on the download completed alert starts up foobar2000 -- my system default for all formats. I'm delighted that this is how it happens since I'm finding foobar's small size ideal.
But, I cannot help wonder if there could be created some plugin to simply send foobar to the net periodically to effect the same thing.
i would LOVE a podcast fetcher foobar plugin

I'll use this. Right now I am using iPodder and I hate it.
Whilst a podcast plugin would be fantastic an easier solution would be if foobar handled rss/xml files in the same way it does playlists such as m3u via http, ideally with some sort of refresh functionality.
Streaming would work as present and downloading could be handled via foo_openwith and wget.

Yes yes yes! Come on someone out there has to have an idea how to get this working
This would be a great plugin...now all we need is iPod support and cd burning (without nero) for 0.9 =)
Any reason this didn't happen?
This might be the sort of thing your looking for..?
