Hi,
I just d/l lame 3.90 (and Razorlame).
BTW when I click on Lame in its directory I get quick flash dos box and it disappears. in other words it does not install and crashes.
Could it be because I am running Win 2000 with 32 bit files?
Like I am not great at this, just trying to switch my CDs to MP3 so I can load my player.
Help.

you either can use lame.exe via commandline or frontend. the latter is probably what you want. to do so, you need to download other programs that can use LAME, as posted above.

edit: a nice analogy may be a bullet and a gun.
you want the bullet to hit the target (i.e. LAME to encode your files). but you need a gun to fire the bullet (i.e. a frontend).

there are other ways, but this is probably the most simple for most windows user.

You downloaded RazorLame. biggrin.gif Good.

Install RazorLame, and unzip Lame.exe into RazorLame's folder.

Now run RazorLame, and go into the options to locate and configure Lame.

Then you're all set. You can just Add or drag-and-drop files into RazorLame's GUI, and click the big ENCODE button on the toolbar to begin encoding.
