When I try to downmix to mono using Nero the resulting mp4/aac is half as fast (twice as long).
Using Nero 6.6.0.8. I tried all sorts of combinations of options on a variety of file types.

Works correctly here.

What are you using for decoding?

That's odd. It works when I encode using the Nero GUI. It doesn't work with dbpoweramp or besweet.
