Full Version: Quicktime to Matroska problem

I tried to export a movie from its original container (Quicktime) to Matroska, but mmg gives me these errors:

Warning: Quicktime/MP4 reader: Unknown/unsupported FourCC 'XVID' for track 1.
Warning: Quicktime/MP4 reader: Unknown/unsupported FourCC 'OggV' for track 2.
Warning: 'Test-1.mov': No tracks will be copied from this file. This usually indicates a mistake in the command line.

What should I do to be able to store an XVID video track and an a Vorbis audio track inside a Matroska container ?

I would check this guide: http://neap0litan.home.comcast.net/

i think ffmpeg creates such strange files when you mux from .avi (it simply writes the fourcc)

you might want to demux it to a raw mpeg-4 stream or into .avi with ffmpeg and than feed mkvmerge with it

dunno if ffmpeg can demux vorbis from .mov to .ogg?
