I recently ripped a lot of chapters from audio book The Da Vinci Code so I listen to it on my iPod. But I want to compress them to mp3 so I can save space. When I try to use EAC to compress the .wavs to .mp3s (using LAME 3.90.3 stable) I get these weird error. It crashes and asks to send an error report. Anyone have any idea what or how I can fix this?

I'm sure someone here could help, but it would be useful if you supplied a little more information about your settings and what the error actually is.

Well mainly I just want to transfer my .wav to mp3 using the lame mp3 encoder. I tried using EAC (set the compression options ot use the flac encoder) and when it encoded the wavs it crashes and gives me some error. I don't know what the error exactly is, it just says "the program has caused an error and will shutdown". The files it outputs are corrupt.

Could you solve a problem with that little information? We can't either. What LAME are you using (exe or dll). What are your settings? Try and help us a little. Thanks cool.gif

Ok that's straight forward enough. Weird errors always indicate a hardware memory problem. Strange errors are caused by cpu overclocking and unusual errors indicate a problem with your program settings. See you gave plenty of information to get an answer. tongue.gif
