I have playing with my new 1212M for a while now and have tried some different setups.
I wanted to use ASIO direct monitoring to record with Wavelab; bypassing the Emu mixer. I use seperate ASIO input channels, with each faded to the left and right, and Wavelab picks up the resulting stereo input.

When I asked for EMU's opinion they had me use the AUX send and faded channels to dish it over through the Emu mixer.

I decided to try it my way to keep the path pure but I can't seem to get ASIO playback to come out bypassing the EMu mixer; I can get playback of Wavelab audio but I want playback from my media player to bypass the mixer and come out stereo.

I could have sworn I had it setup early today using ASIO 31/32 (which EMU says is some kind of default monitoring channel).

I'm using J. River Media Center on ASIO 4 = ASIO 5/7 and it's running through the mixer. I can't use the ASIO 1/2 & 3/4 as they are for recording and are panned hard left & right.

Is using ASIO all I need; should I even bother trying to get around the EMU mixer? I don't need the gain and leave it on 0.

The documentation on the PatchMix just isn't helping me and I am getting lost in this thing.

Try: inserts - insert send - send output to host I/O card 1/2
(From the ASIO out panel.)

Thanks, I figured otut sometihng that works. If you use a Send from the ASIO strip it locks down the I/O so Wave host won't work.

I now use Sends on the inputs and then use ASIO 31/32 for playback; it seems to bypass all the faders and still allows Wave Host to play directsound out through the mixer.
