Full Version: file length not matching WAVE header

I just bought the Louis XIV CD yesterday. As I have done with many other CDs, I ripped it using Music Match Jukebox 7.5 (which for some reason doesn't produce the glitches EAC does with my CD drive) into WAV files. I then brought the WAV files into burrrn 1.11 and create a back-up for my car. Every track produced the following warning in burrn:
file length does not match length from WAVE header

My backup CD (and the ones I tried after re-ripping and burning) have glitches between tracks and many songs end abruptly a minute or so before they should.

Is this something this has been discussed? Is there a good way to make a proper back-up of this CD?

Also, on a similar topic... Sometimes I'll edit a WAV using Audacity 1.2.0 and at random times it will also produce this 'file length does not match length from WAVE header' warning in burrrn. Is there anything I should be doing after I delete sections of a track in Audacity?

Thanks.

Just a guess, but perhaps MMJ and Audacity are putting information in RIFF chunks at the end of the file (I know that CoolEdit/Audition does this). A long time ago I used a CD-burner program that would actually write these to the CD producing little glitches between tracks. If burrrn just ignores this extra data (like it should) then there should not be a problem. You might try converting the .wavs to a lossless compression format that burrrn handles. If extra RIFF chunks are the problem then that should fix the warning (and save some space)

edit: misspelled "chunks" two different ways! smile.gif
