Hey all, I have a home theater pc running XP Media Center Edition 2005 and I've got a question concerning Dobly Digital decoding. I use an Audigy 2 NX (the external one) for my audio and it works and sounds great. I bought the Microsoft Advanced AV Pack so I could get 5.1 out of my xbox and I hooked the optical from the xbox up to the optical input on my Audigy 2 NX, only to get no sound. Doing some research it appears that the NX does not support DD decoding from external sources, even though it has optical in and can decode DD sources up to 7.1 that come from the computer, but apparently not from the optical in. Now I find this a little cheap and misleading on Creative's part, but what I wanted to know is that since I'm sending the 5.1 signal from the xbox to the pc, is there any way to decode the signal in software so that I can output it to my 5.1 speakers using the 1/8th inch connectors that are plugged into my Audigy 2 NX.
