Because of a request in this thread I'll post some samples I've made. One is encoded to ATRAC3 (LP2) using SonicStage 2.3, the other using version 3.0. I was able to ABX the two with a score of 15/16 (see my topic on minidisc.org). The encoding has improved a little to my ears. Less artifacts on the vocals.
The sample is taken from the song "Prayer for the gun" from the Dutch band Solo.
Full Version: ATRAC3 132 kbs (sonicstage 2.3 & 3.0)
Would be nice to see SS 2.0 (used in the latest 128 test) vs 2.3 vs 3. (The encoder has been updated at some time between 2.0 and 2.3)

Too bad, once you've installed version 3 I don't think it's possible to downgrade to version 2.0 again. I do have version 1.5 on a CD that came with my unit, however.
I have 2.0 on CD but I'm not really willing to install it.
