I thought this needs to be in the front page news. smile.gif

- Portal "Latest Threads" numeric page links are now fixed!
- Forum Category links are now nearly working...(not quite: see Bugs)
- You can go back to the portal by clicking the "Portal" link on top panel next to "Search".
- New skin: Linux (non-true type), for Linux users having problems with font sizes.
- The issue with the font sizes changing on mouseover is fixed.
- In Portal's "Latest Threads" you can go to the latest message of a thread by clicking the "By:". In the root forum you can go to the latest message by clicking the "In: thread name" or in the specific forum view "Last Post by" -link.

Bugs:
- Some bug still with "middle" categories when going back from sub-category towards "root", just blank screen/nothing is loaded. For example if in "General - (Ogg Vorbis)", you can't go back to "Ogg Vorbis" category at the moment by clicking the appropriate link. Hopefully will be fixed soon.

-If using Mozilla/Gecko (only with Linux?) you shouldn't use the "easy reading skin" at the moment. Otherwise fonts will be messed up. Seems that Portal "Latest Threads" font size is troublesome for Linux users with any skin.. ?

I don't think this is a problem with the website. It's a problem with Linux and the fact that the default font display usually sucks.

There's plenty of guides out there that tell how you can improve font display, where you can get good fonts, and how to turn on antialiasing in X/Gnome/KDE, etc.

Also, Konqueror and Mozilla are much better are rendering fonts nicely than say Opera or Netscape 4.x for Linux.

Ok. The issue with the font sizes changing on mouseover is fixed. There was a small bug in my CSS wink.gif

Also, I made a skin for linux which basically uses a larger font size to get around the fact that most linux setups which don't have a tuned font display don't look very good with the default settings. You can either use this, or another solution is to limit the minimum font size in your browser. This should work well within either Opera or Mozilla.

Thanks for all the hard work, JohnV and Dibrom.

Thanks... the Easy Reading Linux Skin works for me biggrin.gif
I don't think it's a problem with my Linux setup... I've installed all "standard" TrueType fonts from M$ and some more... and with Mozilla/Linux (with the same Gecko libs as Galeon) it does work
But with the Skin it does work so everything's allright B)

Weird. I got some cryptic SQL-like errors when posting at Listening test at c't (leading to a triple post) and now the thread isn't moved up in the active topics list, nor is the "last action" updated.
JohnV
Yeah, weird. When posting to that thread, it gives:

mySQL query error: UPDATE ibf_forums SET last_title='Listening test at c't', last_id='3072', last_post='1030997578', last_poster_name='JohnV', last_poster_id='6', posts='6546' WHERE id='1'

mySQL error: You have an error in your SQL syntax near 't', last_id='3072', last_post='1030997578', last_poster_name='JohnV', last_poste' at line 1
mySQL error code: 1064

Oh shit! There is something wrong, maybe a bug with IBF! ohmy.gif
The Thread name showed only "Listening test at c" when going to "edit thread", so I renamed it to "Listening test at ct".. and now all the new messages posted during the IBF era are gone?!?

Must be some kind of bug with the " ' " in the thread name??? sad.gif

I'd be a little surprised. It's probably a conversion issue.

Seems that maybe the convertor didn't handle this properly.. I'm not sure. I'll look at it later. I'm fairly certain the posts are still there in the database, so I don't think there's really all that big of a problem here. We'll have to wait and see though.
JohnV
Yeah, I forgot the conversion.. That's most likely it.. dry.gif

Is it just me, or the "Hydrogen Audio Discussion" Sub-category up there, which links to http://www.audio-illumination.org/forums/i...p?s=&act=SC&c=1, does not work?
Dibrom
Yes, the middle categories don't work right now. They will soon though.
