Full Version: Handling FLAC/APE/CUE as disk images on OS X?

Now that ALAC can be decoded to more universal formats, and I forsee myself using it for at least a few years, I want to convert all my FLAC and APE CD images w/CUE sheets to Apple Lossles.

I could use shntool to split the files up into WAV files from the CUE sheets, and import into iTunes, but honestly a lot of the CUE sheets don't have much more than Artist or Track Title information, and I know iTunes can do a pretty good job of auto-grabbing more info than I entered originally. As best i can tell, the only way to have iTunes do this is if I stick the orignal CD in the drive and have it re-rip from scratch.

On Windows, I know I could use Daemon Tools or something similar to mount the CUE sheet as a disk, and iTunes would happily see it as a real CD and rip it, but without the risk of read errors. I can't seem to find anything similar on the Mac side. Any ideas how to do this? Don't care if it's a unix or GUI tool, I'll wind up doing a Bash or Applescript to run the whole thing.

I know Toast Titanium supports mounting .cue files, but not sure if it takes a cue/wave combination.

Yeah, it only takes the BIN/CUE combination, doesn't have any idea what to do with audio CD .cue files.
