Is there a quicker way to have flac rewrite tags, than decoding and reencoding?
i had about 3 copies of flac running via the frontend, and one artist/album tag was written to all 3 albums. i realize it wouldnt take that long to do it manually but i accidently set the manual tag settings and coded an unknown ammount of albums previously.
There is a ton of software that supports writing/editing FLAC tags.

If you don't want to use additional software, you could use the command line utility that comes with FLAC: metaflac.exe

Some of my older FLACs don't have the 4kb padding allowing for easy editing of tags... Is there an way to rewrite the padding in? I guess I could just convert from FLAC to FLAC in foobar... Any other methods?

metaflac --add-padding=4000 foo.flac
