There are two things I want to use at a quick clicks notice, and one of those things is the database search.

Currently, I have to click Components, and then wade through all the options down to the database search menu item. I want to add this and some very select commands to the menu bar, say right after the components button, or as a button on a new toolbar.

Does anyone have any ideas?

So far, custom toolbar buttons aren't possible. You could make life easier by moving the database search menu item to the top of the Components menu through "preferences->core->main menu items". You could also set a keyboard shortcut, which is the method I think most people prefer.

Ok, I had already done that (to an extent). Ive moved all the submenu type ones to the top and then I have my main ones in a priority, some starting from the top, others from the bottom.

Thanks for the suggestion. I had already tried to get my head around it but was missing some 'ideas' about shortcuts. But hearing the impossibility of creating my own button (whch is a shame) I have decided to make the shortcuts work for me. It's a shame you can't edit the ones already there, you have to delete and recreate. This is only a problem because I want a lot of keys to be global. Maybe I could edit the config file directly...

No, on the other hand... I wont! biggrin.gif
