Full Version: What's a good speech codec to archive in?

ToneDef
I am currenting recording my class lectures with my palm. The file format which the recordings have been saved is some special wav file. The wav file turns out to be rather small compressing about 1 hour into 48mbs or so. But, I still find that size a bit large for archiving. Does anyone know of any other file formats which will take up less space? I wish to convert the wav file in to this archiving format so I can save it to dvd or cd.

Any input would be appreciated thank you.
