lets see how much time will i need to get a download spot at aheads OVERcrowded mirrors....

the only real fix IMHO is the
* Nero terminated if the path to a source file was too long

Crowded servers appear to be a real and persistent problem at Ahead. I wonder why they don't use Bittorrent for distribution. After all, BT was designed for situations like this instead of warezoring.
CiTay
Funnily enough, i could download it at 40-50 KB/s today. But this is a big exception.

i dont think that is fair. I mean, its ok to offer MY upload for a FREE linux destribution, but why should i offer MY upload for UPDATES i AM ENTITLED as a PAYING user?? Many other applications have a lot of users and they manage to do fine even with frequent and large updates. I think ahead should either consider hiring a mirroring company or change their update strategy (is it logical to download 30-100 megs for 3 lines of whatsnew changes? that could be done with patching...)

Because they don't know from which version you are updating.

then they should make an updater programm that would download or patch whatever version you have to the latest. Downloadin with 3kb/sec is not acceptable in the year 2005.

this has been requested millions of times ... but looks like ahead doesn't care ... sad, cause i really like NERO, but i don't want to install all else ...

They can easily make patches to upgrade from 6.6 to latest version, and small patch to upgrade from previous to latest or just download whole package. I'm sure it's not that hard to do if you are willing to do it.

It's apsurd to download 30+ megs just when a few lines of code has been fixed. I wouldn't mind downloading whole thing if it were 5 MB big, but this... Not to mention it'd save them ton of money on bandwidth.

Custom install....that'll be the day. I think we can dream about it as having Longhorn in the stores next week.

I have been wondering about something...In USA, Canada and Mexico There is a localized package of Nero Reloaded called Nero Ultra Edition - Major Update. Does anyone know what the difference to the two packages are ? and why they have two versions ? -Martin.
