Is there a one step process to convert shn directly to mp3? Or is there a program or batch file that will handle the conversion from shn to wav and then wav to mp3 automatically. I have alot of shn audio files and I have a new windows Ipod and I would like to put some of this music on my Ipod.

LAME has no direct encoding from shn files but you can make a batch file to first decode to wav and then encode with lame.

You can use Winamp for that.

Install SHNamp as input plugin, and out_enc from Peter Pawlovski.

Then, set out_enc as your active output plugin, configuring it with your desired Lame settings.
