I use the Playlist Tree plugin... when i add a folder to it it sorts it just fine. The playlist is sorted correctly by track number, like i want it.

But if i right click on the folder (in playlist tree) and goto sort, it screws it all up, puts everything in a random order. And I can not figure out how to undo this.

Ive tried searching (the search on this forum sucks btw) and could not find the answer.

Ive dug through the preferences and changed everything i could find that said sort to "%ARTIST% - %ALBUM% - $num(%TRACKNUMBER%,2) - %TITLE%" and no good.

anyone know what i am doing wrong, or how i can fix this it would be great, since a few of my playlists are all out of order and it is really annoying.

thanks.

what happens if you go to Playlist/Sort/Sort by ... and then enter your sort string there ?

In the playlist tree preferences, Folders: Sort Criteria, should be the option to specify.

when i go there the sort string is already listed. if i click ok it sorts it correctly.

so, that did work, thanks....

so why does that sort work, and not the one on the right click menu?

cwbowron: i already have that changed.

Hm, good question to be honest. It works fine here. Maybe you specified a different sort criteria within your query ? Not quite sure which criteria is primarily chosen (I am always a bit confused because I can specify up to 3 or 4 different sort criterias within foobar/Playlist tree wink.gif ). Try right-clicking on your query, then chose Edit... and check the sort field there.

edit: just some typos and spelling mistakes wink.gif

right-click sort afaik should use the default sort criteria under pt preferences, or the specified in the dynamic playlist.
