hi there!

Is there an easy way (through the fb2k prefs or similar) to reactivate the explorer context menu [Play/Enqueue in Foobar]?
I configured my foobar the way I wanted it and with the comps I need. When I try to porting my preconfigured foobar to a different computer my only problem is that I lost the context menus.

I found the entries in the Registry already but it's a lot of work to create all the necessary entries and honestly...the next time I have to format my system I forgot what to do!

So is there a DON'T PANIC I'll DO IT FOR YOU - button??? rolleyes.gif

I think you can get them back with fooassoc, which is in the programs menu with foobar, and also the foobar2000 Program Files folder. I'd check to make sure, but mine says Unable to locate foobar =/
someone whos fooassoc works can confirm/deny this

fooassoc is only to reassociate file formats to foobar! That doesn't reactivate the Directory Context Entries.

But thanx anyways!

I believe the installer creates those. You could simply install foobar, and then copy the settings you want into it's directory.

fooassoc ALSO allows you to add the explorer context menus but you need a valid install (ie you have to install it through the installer) so that fooassoc can associate these context menus entries and the foobar directory (using registry entries).

so the simplest way is to install a default foobar through the installer, delete the foobar2000 directory created and replace it with your backup

That was the way I did it all the time but I had the hope there might be a more elegant way to handle the problem.

find out about these, export these:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Applications\foobar2000.exe
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Directory\shell

for the directory context menu probably. There are of course millions of those settings for the different file types.
