Hi,
It would be great to be able to activate and deactivate plugins in preferences of foobar [in window with list of all plugins]. Mooving .dlls outside /plugins/ directory every time we want to disable plugins is very anoying...

Simple solution: Don't install any components that you don't really need.

Other than that I cannot think of a real reason why you would really have to disable a component that you use from time to time anyway.

Instead of moving the .dll files, you can rename them to .bak. It's a little easier, but like picmixer said, there's no real need to be swapping components in and out on a regular basis.

well I do not agree, because I think that some components (a few ones, it's true)
are useful only sometime and personally, I sometimes use some components to test them and only if I am pleased of their use I keep them, but it can last several weeks of test before deleting them. And months after, I remember that useless components (as I thought before) were not that bad and I must find them again.

But anyway, it's only arguing, it does not bother me in anyway to add/delete the components

Plugin Installer (foo_beammeup) adds "Restart (delayed)" in File menu, and "Open component directory" in Components, which I find very handy.

I rename them foo_someplug.dll.OFF
Works for me....
