I installed fb2k on my windows 98 machine and all works well. I also installed it on a win2k machine and I'm having some sound quality issues. While playing a .m4a file I heard a distinct change in pitch like it was playing at a slightly slower speed but not for the whole song, it seemed to phase in then phase out a couple times during the playback.

All other mp3 players that I have on my computer work fine.

Any ideas on what might be happening?

I've looked at the preferences and there seems to be alot of choices, where should I start?

Thanks for you help,

Sorry that I can't give you a complete answer, but the best place to start would most likely be in "Preferences->Playback->Output", and try different options for the "output method". Here's the section of the Foobar FAQ about the output method:

Ok,

That worked. Using "Preferences->Playback->Output", "output method" I changed it from |waveout| to |directsound| ....... and now it works good,

Thanks for helping,
