I'm trying to rip two CDs with EAC, but keep running into problems. Although both are fairly new and exhibit no damage, EAC always runs into a series of Sync/Read errors halfway through and outputs a bunch of "suspicious positions" afterwards -- even on corrected tracks! All my other disks work fine. What gives?

Check the packaging for mention of copy protection.
